When They Met

Meeting each other was the last thing thing that Mugen, Fuu, and Jin thought would happen in their life. Mugen wandered and did whatever he felt like doing, Jin was in search of something he wasn't sure of, and Fuu was waiting for the right moment to begin her search for the sunflower-scented samurai. They all met mainly because of Mugen's troublesome acts, which led Fuu to making them keep a promise to help her search for her sunflower-scented samurai if she saved them from their death sentence.

Throughout the whole series, I couldn't help but fall in love with the relationship that Fuu and Jin had. Though the series was short and some may not see what relationship Jin and Fuu had, I could see that they had an understanding of some sort and of course Jin was so much easier to talk to as compared to Mugen.

There were occasions when the three of them almost split up because of petty little arguments mainly Fuu and Mugen had. They were all separated when Mugen said he didn't even want to help search for the sunflower-scented samurai and told her that Jin agreed. Jin didn't deny it and so the three of them walked their path for a while, just until they reunited again. Mugen and Jin in their own way told Fuu that they would help her search for her sunflower samurai.

The time Jin fell in love with Shino almost prevented him from keeping his promise with Fuu. In the end, he let her go and stayed with Fuu because he made a promise to her and he would keep it. The other time that they were actually separated was when they met Sara, the blind woman who asked Fuu to let either Mugen or Jin come with her. Hearing the request hurt Fuu so much because she didn't want to let either of them go, but in the end, she let Jin go. Of course they all reunited after finding each other.

There were quite a few moments with just Jin and Fuu in the series, and that makes me really happy. Though it may not seem like it, I believe that it was Fuu who led Jin on the path of what he was searching for. He realized that he wanted a comrade, and that comrade of course was Mugen. If it weren't for Fuu and her promise she made them keep, Mugen would still be a wanderer and Jin would still be on a search for that one thing he wanted to find.

I love Jin for being concerned about Fuu everytime she gets upset. I loved it when he let her hug him when she cried about finally reaching Nagasaki. She didn't want to think about what would happen when her journey was over. Even though Jin was about to offer to stay with her, she interrupted him when she cried. That was my favorite moment in all of Samurai Champloo for sure.

Really, the three of them developed greatly because of the relationship the three had with each other, and I won't deny that. I also know that Fuu could never choose between Jin and Mugen because she loves them both so much, but I still can't help but love the development that Jin and Fuu had.

By chance was the name of the fanlisting Yume and I settled on because after all, Jin and Fuu happened to meet by chance. If Fuu hadn't met Mugen or Jin that day, she would have never had the journey she always wanted. It was also by chance that it was Jin who saved Fuu when she was at the end of the cliff when she was about to be killed.

Version one's layout was made by Yume. After much shock and happiness of being approved for this fanlisting, I was layout dead and so every attempt I tried in making a layout for this fanlisting failed. Not long ago did I try again because I thought I had idea of making a layout, but it turned out hideous, but I loved the picture I cleaned up. When Yume looked at the PSD of the horrible layout I made, I told her if she wanted to, she could do anything she wanted with it, and what you see now is what Yume did. I love it a lot. Yume sat down, made the layout, and coded it all in one sitting. I came in and put my content. In other words, this fanlisting was constructed in one day because I made the codes long ago. I can't help but think that this layout is really cute and it doesn't have dull colors at all. I am completly satisfied with it. I really can't believe how hard Yume worked on this layout for me, and for that, I am really thankful. By Chance is also named after the song by the Korean band Baby VOX. It really is a lovely song and makes a great ring tone.
